Peat moss, peat bog
a prairie earth so morning.

The sunshine penetrate
relaxes, a sarcophagus
fungi, the chlorophyll (or
lack thereof) engaging
release factor, a time
lapsed and energy.

Litter, mulch, a composting
heap so soaked.

Dark earth rising, broken
down, relaxed, enhanced
release deceasing,
crumbling brown with moist-
a taste of metals, of minerals.

A gradual transformation
almost unnoticed.

Shape me with clay, my
blind and private sculptress,
protean and formless
confused and perplexed,
lost and misplaced,
dancing eternally.
