Laces gets a mention in passing in this profile of Drea Matteo (She also remembers roller-skating to Lionel Richie's "Hello" with Eddie, the most popular skater at Laces, in New Hyde Park.), but the only other reference I can find (also in passing), dated December 5, 1997, confirms that Laces is gone: Successful initiatives that resulted in the closing of Laces Roller Skating Rink on Hillside Avenue.
